Seems to be a restaurant that provides healthy and fresh dishes. The ingredients in the soup are particularly fresh and healthy. It appeared that only the wontons were premade and kept frozen until purchased.
Very close to Longshan Temple MRT station you'll find this hidden vegetarian gem of a restaurant. The ingredients are fresh and healthy, making the food guilt-freely delicious. I could easily see this becoming a local haunt to any vegetarian.
The dumplings and soup are to die for. There was a big box overflowing with pumpkins near the front of the restaurant. After eyeing this upon my arrival, I knew I was going to get fresh pumpkin something; it turned out to be fresh pumpkin soup, and it was probably the best pumpkin soup that I've had in Taipei. There are only two choices of dumplings: with house sauce or chili sauce (both served in a warm broth), but they are like your favorites that you would eat over and over again at a restaurant instead of trying other options, because you know they will fulfill your culinary needs every time. The noodles were not to my liking because they were overcooked and too mushy for my taste. The sauces they used on the noodles were very tasty, which made the noodles still slightly acceptable. If you can request them to cook the noodles less and they accept this customization, this would solve the noodle problem entirely.
Customize any one of your dishes with the choices of sauces offered at the server counter.
Food I tried:
Pumpkin Soup: As I said above, fresh and possibly the best pumpkin soup that I've had in Taipei.
Tomato Soup: Fresh and not overpowering like some tomato soup I've tried. This and the pumpkin soup are one of the best things to eat on a cold day to warm up your body and leave you feeling completely satisfied.
Healthy Soup: Made with ingredients that are particularly healthy for you. Tastes good, but not completely delicious like the pumpkin and tomato soup.
Dumplings (Wontons) with House Sauce: Served in a warm broth with some oil and delicious minced vegetables.
Dumplings (Wontons) with Chili Sauce: Served in a warm chili broth. If it isn't hot enough for you, go to the server counter and add some more hot sauce.
Noodles with Sesame Sauce: The sesame sauce was tasty, but the noodles were way too mushy for my liking, killing the dish. Next time I'll see if I can request al dente (fully cooked, but not overly soft) before ordering any of the noodle selections.
Spinach with Soy Meat side dish: Fresh spinach with soy meat on top with some warm broth underneath. Great vegetable side dish to enjoy along with your dumplings, soup, or noodles.

Exceptional job in creating delicious, healthy fake meat dishes. The Japanese style eel rice bowl (unagi donburi) and chicken curry are two of the biggest draws here and I couldn't find anything like it anywhere else in Taipei.
FE21 department stores built their newest and best location called MegaCity in Banqiao by the Banqiao MRT and rail station. It's 13 floors include more than just boring overpriced clothes; this location has themes such as the 1940's Taiwan/China Food Republic (大食代 ) food court in the basement and a Venetian theme with street restaurants on the 9th floor. The basement and 9th floor are a must visit. A Citysuper grocery store is also located on the basement floor. MegaCity's interior design was inspired by the exterior Japanese origami architectural concept which has a strong geometric design. It's currently the largest department store in New Taipei City and also includes a 5 screen cinema and an IMAX. Check out what's playing at an IMAX in Taiwan and buy tickets.
Guang Cheng Vegetarian (the sign says Kuang Cheng vegetarian) is located in the 1940's themed Food Republic food court on the basement floor. They tried to make every detail of this food court remind you of old time Taiwan/China by using bricks, clay, wood, dated lanterns, old restaurant signs, old music, dated clothes for the workers, and the museum-like items here and there that really complete the old time atmosphere. It's like Epcot Disney World.
This is Guang Cheng Vegetarian's 3rd location. The other two locations offer more food selections, but the eel donburi (rice bowl) is only offered at this location. Adding the unagi donburi to this location was a nice touch for the food court's theme because of the Japanese occupation in Taiwan from 1895-1945. They do a remarkable good job in reproducing fake meat, especially the chicken and eel. If you're not a fake meat vegetarian connoisseur, you can stick to their delicious tofu, noodles, and vegetable items.
Food I tried:
Eel Rice Bowl (unagi donburi) set: The fake eel meat was really close to the real thing and was cooked with some very satisfying sauce. It was completely delicious and I urge any vegetarian to try this dish.
Chicken Curry: The fake chicken meat tasted very similar to tender chicken and the curry sauce was of a Japanese style and was very good. This and the eel where my favorites and I'll come back for them for sure.
Beef Noodles: This was the one dish that I thought was just pretty good, because the fake beef was too chewy, but the udon noodles and soup broth were very good.
Seaweed Soup: It came along with my eel & chicken curry meal because I got the combo set for both. It had a lot of seaweed and a good amount of salt.
Tofu & Vegetable side dishes: Both were delicious and cooked with a very yummy, light tasting sauce.

One of the most delicious and healthy vegetarian buffets/restaurants in Taipei. They have a lot of the vegetarian choices that other buffet places have and also unique items; both being on the healthier side, not drenched in cheap unhealthy oils and sauces like other buffets fall victim to.
Most vegetarian buffets in Taipei are not actually healthy because the food is drenched in unhealthy sauce and when you leave, you find yourself coughing on the grease left over in your throat. Most vegetarian Taiwanese don't eat meat for religious reasons and not health reasons, so it is not a surprise. So if you want to eat at a healthy vegetarian buffet for a change, this is a great place. They also have all you can eat/drink ice-cream, tea, and juice (not 100% juice). They have a coffee machine, but you have to pay extra for a cup of coffee.
The buffet costs a little more than your usual unhealthy vegetarian buffet because the ingredients are better, but if you pay by weight in a lunch box fashion, it costs the same as other places. They also cater non-buffet vegetarian dishes in an elaborate traditional turning table Taiwanese/Chinese style to groups by prior appointment.
All you can eat buffet prices: Mon-Fri 11am-2pm NT$269, 5:30pm-8pm NT$199, Sat & Sun NT$299.

Simply the best if not only exclusive vegetarian wood fired pizza place in Taipei. All ingredients are quality, especially the cheese.
_
The place is a little shack with not much seating. Their pizza was enough of a hit for them to open up a second location in the Wanhua District. They keep it simple and specialized with 8 different pizza options; all of which are vegetarian. Nothing beats authentic Italian Margherita for the best vegetarian pizza experience, but So Free certainly does a great job trying to match the Italians; all their 8 pizza options are simply delicious(well I can't include the Korean Kimchi Pizza in that statement, having never tried it because I don't like kimchi). Just like Italian pizza they cook it in a wood or kiln fired oven which always brings out the best pizza flavors.
They have the best dessert pizzas I've ever had because they aren't too sweet and still have cheese like a normal pizza. There are two herb/spices options on the counter for patrons to use: chili powder and herbs you would put on lamb. Some work better with certain pizzas and sometimes adding both of them to the same pizza makes a nice flavor experience I have discovered.
They sell international quality cheeses like Gouda you can take home and that is why the & cheese is in their name. They also sell healthy tea and organic juices. Definitely in my top pizza experiences in Taipei.
