Libre Burrito is a Mexican restaurant (more like vender in a basement) owned by a Japanese company. That alone scares me. It's located in the basement below the Base hostel. This is probably the only reason why they're still in business; it's quick and easy for backpackers and they most likely don't know what their other Mexican options are in Taipei. The large basement area also contains pay-per-hour Internet, a copier machine, and these items for sale: clothing, skateboards and skateboard gear, and books. The whole basement is probably owned by the Base and Libre Burrito probably only needs to pay a small proportion of the basements rent, which would be another reason they're able to stay in business.
Every item that I tried at Libre Burrito was bad to horrible. From super stale tortilla chips that reminded me of deep-fried cardboard to tasteless tacos of doom. Someone please libre me from their burritos. The details for each can be read in the critiquing for each picture.
Vegetarian options: All of their menu items have a vegetarian option. They don't include the meat and the price is cheaper. Look at their menu in the picture section below or on their website for exact prices.
