I was hoping that Rebel Burger made a good burger, since it's in the vicinity of my apartment and would've been convenient when burger cravings arose. Unfortunately, I'll have to be traveling farther to satisfy my burger desires.
Rebel Burger has a nice decor, welcoming atmosphere, and great service. Their menu boosts some uniquely good looking burgers. On my first visit I found all the ingredients in my burger to be tasty, but the beef patty was a completely different story, and it spoiled the whole burger. The beef patty was dry, not juicy, and contained no flavor whatsoever. I only returned two month later to give them another shot because of the convenience in it being close to my place. I was hoping that the lousy beef patty I received on my first visit was an anomaly, and the cook had just messed up on that particular patty or was having a bad day. But after the first bite of my cheeseburger, the cold, hard truth slipped in: Dry and tasteless is the normal state of their beef patties.
As always, my reviews are the straight-forward truth. Think of yourself, the reader of my reviews, to be my close friend who is asking me if they should eat at a particular restaurant or cafe. Just as I would advise my close friends, I make these reviews to help you enjoy your culinary outings. Also, to help establishments that prepare great food and deserve to thrive. If someone can't do their job correctly, whether it be a dentist who drills a hole in your tongue by mistake, a cop who shoots a jaywalker, a food blogger that recommends McDonald's, or a burger restaurant that can't make a decent burger, they shouldn't be allowed to continue performing that job, and find something else they're good at, or where they will at least not harm other people. OK, the last example might not exactly be harming someone if their burgers aren't as unhealthy as McDonald's "burgers," but you get my drift. Some people might say that I'm being mean or that I'm an asshole when I report my version of the truth about restaurants when they aren't satisfactory. To those people: Well, I'm sorry for telling the truth and trying to help you out. I wouldn't be much of a reviewer if I only recommended everything. Anyway, I know that my readers appreciate the time I spend trying to help them, and it's probably not even worth the space in this review to have addressed the very, very few judgmental people. Some people are going to judge you whatever you do, so it's best to ignore them and keep doing what you love.
Vegetarian options: Being that these items don't contain their horrible beef patties, they may be good, or even delicious. Portabella Mushroom Burger (NT$320), Vinegar Mushrooms Omelett Burger (NT$280), and probably one of their salads.
