Watami is a casual Japanese restaurant with a good selection of Japanese cuisine and drinks. The decor is very nice for a casual restaurant. Everything that I've had at Watami has been good to delicious. The only complaint that I have about Watami is that a lot of their items are overpriced for the amount of food that is given. Especially the deep fried selections (look at the pictures of the deep fried Hiroshima oysters and the chili chicken red wings).
I tried the Caesar Salad, Fried Tofu, Tempura, Pork Omelet, and the Nigiri Sushi.
The Caesar Salad was a complete Japanese overhaul on the original concept. It had fresh ingredients: lettuce, bacon, halved cherry tomatoes, thin bread croutons, Parmesan cheese, and a mostly raw egg in the middle, which you are suppose to mix into the whole salad before eating. It was a very nice play on a Caesar Salad and refreshingly different. The Fried Tofu was perfectly crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside, and came in a very yummy Japanese semi-sweet Japanese sauce. The Tempura was pretty good, but it lacked flour covering, was a bit too oily, and it was expensive for the amount given. The Nigiri Sushi was hot, fresh, and delicious to the last bite. It came with two pieces of each: raw salmon, raw tuna, and cooked eel -- three of my favorites. The Pork Omelet was a thick egg omelet with slices of pork, green vegetables, and cheese inside with a sweet sauce covering the outside. It was delicious and I will order it again on my next visit.
On my second visit, I tried many more dishes. All of them were delicious. Check the captions in the pictures below for dish names and prices.
I tried many more dishes on my third visit. Again, all of them were delicious. My only complaint is how a lot of the dishes are overpriced for the amount that is given. Check the captions in the pictures below for dish names and prices.
Vegetarian options: The only thing I could find was Fried Tofu. Not really a place for vegetarians.
